John Laymac – Senior Mortgage Banker, First Federal Bank Mortgage

John Laymac has an extensive background in not only the mortgage industry, but in capital markets. His understanding of the financial market and how it affects mortgage rates, and investor appetites for different lending programs has allowed him to provide expert insight for his residential mortgage clients.

While still attending college, John began his career working as an intern at a stock brokerage firm in Atlanta, GA. After graduating, he accepted a job with an investment banking firm in Aspen, CO where he acted as a placement agent for private equity funds, negotiating and structuring convertible debenture private placements in publicly traded companies.

He was hired away by a private equity fund in Chicago, IL where he was responsible for identifying potential investments into small public biotechnology companies. While in Chicago, John successfully identified and closed over 300 million in proprietary investments for the fund. When the fund was fully vested, John moved back to his hometown in Atlanta, GA in 2003 and began his mortgage career.

He was consistently a top producer for a large mortgage company in Duluth, GA before moving over to First Federal Bank Mortgage a little over 3 years ago. He prides himself on using his knowledge, experience, and communication skills to offer his residential mortgage clients the highest level of service.

John lives in Cumming, GA and is an avid fly fisherman.
